Feeding Trials
The following trials were conducted at ‘Yimkin’ Inverell and ‘Carrington’ Delungra in July 2017. Both trials were run identically.
Aim of Trial
To ascertain the commercial benefits of Rumenworks Sheep Enhancer Concentrate with Probiotic
Trial Methodology
100 second cross lambs were split into two groups. The first group was fed Barley at 70% and Cottonseed meal at 20% of the diet. The second group was fed Barley at 70% Cotton seed meal 17.5% and the Rumenworks Sheep Enhancer Concentrate with Probiotic at 2.5% inclusion. These grain based diets were provided ad lib to the sheep in troughs. Roughage in the form of Barley stubble contributed 10% of the diet.
Conclusions
The 2 trials proved conclusively that feeding of the Rumenworks Enhancer Concentrate with Probiotic, delivered an extra average daily liveweight gain of 173 grams/head /day. In addition to this the lambs on average consumed 41% less feed to achieve their target weight of 50kg liveweight. In addition to this mortalities were reduced by an average of 16% of the total group fed.
